Terms of Service for Juneau

Third-Party Application & Trademark Notice: Juneau is an independent third-party client developed for use with Google Jules. Juneau is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Google LLC. Jules and Google are trademarks of Google LLC.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Juneau application ("the Application", "Juneau"), you agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you must immediately cease using and uninstall the Application.

2. Paid Subscriptions & In-App Purchases (Juneau Pro)

Juneau offers optional paid features, tiers, and lifetime access options ("Juneau Pro" or "Subscriptions").

Subscription Options: Subscriptions are available on a recurring billing cycle (e.g., Monthly at $3.99/month or Annual at $39.99/year) or as a non-consumable, one-time lifetime purchase ($79.99). Prices may vary by territory and currency as determined by Apple Media Services.
Free Trial: Subscriptions may include a free trial period (e.g., 3 days). Unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the free trial, the trial will automatically convert into a paid, recurring auto-renewable subscription.
Auto-Renewal & Billing: Payment will be charged to your Apple ID Account at confirmation of purchase or at the end of the trial period. Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
Subscription Management: You can manage or cancel your subscriptions at any time by going to your Account Settings on the Apple App Store after purchase.
No Refunds: ALL PURCHASES AND SUBSCRIPTION FEES ARE FINAL, NON-REFUNDABLE, AND NON-TRANSFERABLE TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. THE DEVELOPER DOES NOT PROVIDE REFUNDS OR CREDITS FOR PARTIAL SUBSCRIPTION PERIODS, UNUSED FEATURES, OR ACCIDENTAL PURCHASES. ANY REFUND REQUESTS MUST BE SUBMITTED DIRECTLY TO APPLE AND ARE SUBJECT EXCLUSIVELY TO APPLE'S DISCRETION AND TERMS.

3. Third-Party Services & API Key Responsibility

Juneau connects to Google Jules via Google's official REST API endpoints using a Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) model.

You must provide your own valid Google Jules API Key generated at jules.google.com/settings/api.
You are solely responsible for maintaining the security of your API key and complying with all applicable Google Cloud & API Terms of Service.
Juneau is not responsible for API rate limits, quotas, billing incurred on your Google Cloud account, account suspensions, or service outages enforced by Google.

4. User Responsibility & AI Code Disclaimer

When using Juneau to trigger automated AI coding tasks, plan approvals, prompt instructions, or GitHub pull requests:

You expressly acknowledge that AI agents generate code, plan steps, and recommendations autonomously based on your prompts.
Sole Verification Responsibility: YOU ARE SOLELY AND EXCLUSIVELY RESPONSIBLE FOR REVIEWING, TESTING, SECURITY AUDITING, AND VERIFYING ALL CODE MODIFICATIONS, PLAN STEPS, AND AUTOMATED PRs BEFORE MERGING THEM INTO ANY REPOSITORY OR DEPLOYING THEM TO PRODUCTION ENVIRONMENT.
The Developer makes no representations, warranties, or guarantees regarding the accuracy, performance, security, compliance, or reliability of any code generated or processed through Juneau.

5. Intellectual Property

Juneau and its original source code, UI designs, brand elements, and logos are the sole property of Zhaonian Luan ("Developer"). All Google trademarks, service marks, and logos (including Google and Jules) remain the property of Google LLC.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE APPLICATION IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. THE DEVELOPER DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE APPLICATION WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE FROM BUGS OR DATA LOSS.

7. Strict Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE DEVELOPER (ZHAONIAN LUAN) BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF DATA, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, REPOSITORY CORRUPTION, SECURITY BREACHES, OR COMPUTER FAILURE, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE APPLICATION OR THIRD-PARTY SERVICES, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

IN ALL CASES, THE DEVELOPER'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS, LOSSES, OR CAUSES OF ACTION ARISING UNDER OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF JUNEAU SHALL BE STRICTLY LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF: (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT ACTUALLY PAID BY YOU TO THE DEVELOPER FOR JUNEAU PRO SUBSCRIPTIONS IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) FIFTY UNITED STATES DOLLARS ($50.00 USD).

8. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Developer from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to your violation of these Terms, your use of the Application, or your integration of AI-generated code into any software codebase or repository.

9. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Santa Clara County, California.

10. Changes to Terms

The Developer reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of Juneau after such changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
